Police and Fire Incremental Programs

As a member of either the sworn or civilian Police Services, CitaHelath's Incremental Health & Fitness Program assists you in:

  • determining your level of physical fitness,
  • providing benchmarks to monitor your personal improvement,
  • and is an integral component of the Police Education Increment Fund.

    To achieve the maximum of two incremental points, you must pass the fitness test five years in a row. The testing must be performed over a minimum period of two consecutive years to a maximum period of five consecutive years in order for you to qualify for points.

    There are six tests administered each with a maximum score of 10 points. In order to pass, you must achieve a total of 36 points or, when compared to the average fitness level of people of the same age group and gender, score within the 60th percentile.

  • Blood analysis
  • Uric acid (gout)
  • Biochemistry (kidney and liver function)
  • Glucose (screening for diabetes)
  • Haematology (complete blood count)
  •  Lipid profile (cholesterol levels)
  • TSH (thyroid function)
  • PSA (prostate specific antigen) - for males 45 years or older
  • Hemoccult (colon cancer screen)
  • Urinalysis
  • Optical assessment
  • Audiometric screening
  • Spirometry (lung function)
  • Resting ECG
  • Stress ECG (exercise tolerance)

  • * Please note that this program is not related to the Peace Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT).
