Bonafide Occupational Requirements

Bona Fide Occupational Requirements (BFOR) define the mandatory bare minimum physical activities required to perform essential work duties and once established, can assist in mediation for resolution of a liability or compensation case between employees, employers and insurance providers. BFOR's can also be used during post-hire pre-employment screening for measurement of potential employee activity tolerance against the essential job specific work demands. The Bona Fide Occupational Requirements allow for comparative analysis between the defined physical activity requirements and the workers demonstrated ability, measured through a Functional Capacity Evaluation.>
