Preventative Imaging-CT Scan

Computed Tomography (CT) scanners generate images of virtually every layer of the body. This technology is invaluable in detecting the sometimes subtle differences between healthy and diseased tissue. The CT scan is 100 times more sensitive than a conventional x-ray, producing three-dimensional images of a particular part of the body.

CITAHEALTH has the capability of providing our clients with the following cutting-edge preventative imaging CT procedures:

HeartScan - Cardiac Calcium Scoring: Used as a screening tool for patients who have or are at risk of heart disease due to high cholesterol. This rapid test assesses the build-up of calcium in the coronary arteries.

LungScan - Lung Nodule Detection: For the screening and early identification of small, potentially cancerous lesions in the lungs that may not appear on traditional chest X-ray examinations. This is especially relevant for former or current smokers.

BodyScan: The procedure includes the coronary artery scan (HeartScan), the LungScan (chest screen) and an Abdominal-pelvicScan and takes just a few minutes.
