| Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE's)The Functional Capacity Evaluation is a "a systematic, comprehensive and objective measurement of an individual's maximum work abilities" (Rondinelli & Katz., Impairment Rating and Disability Evaluation, 2000). Functional Capacity Evaluations may be performed in conjunction with a Return-to-Work or Fitness-to-Work assessment, with an Independent Medical Evaluation, or at the request of either the employer/insurer/lawyer or at the recommendation of the assessing physician. At CITAHEALTH, this service utilizes standardized tests, injury and occupationally specific and clinical observations in providing a complete functional and physical abilities assessment to determine an injured individual's functional capacity to return to previous or alternate employment as well as assist in decisions related to rehabilitation. This assessment is coupled with a comprehensive report by a certified functional evaluator. CITAHEALTH's functional evaluators have collectively provided federal and provincial governments, insurance companies, law firms and private and public companies with more than 500 Functional Capacity Evaluations since 2000, and have been accepted by the Supreme Court of BC as an Expert in the area of Functional Testing. |
