Milwina has always been an active individual, even while she was attending the University of British Columbia (UBC), working on completing a Commerce degree. After a brief stint in the corporate world, she realized that she would rather balance a personÍs lifestyle than balance their chequebook. She decided to pursue her true passion: to help and educate people the way to live a longer and healthier life through physical activity and proper nutrition. She began the Human Performance Program at Langara College and then returned to UBC to complete her Bachelor of Human Kinetics Degree, specializing in the Health and Fitness stream. During this time, she became skilled in exercise prescription, exercise testing, exercise rehabilitation, personal training as well as nutrition. She has completed numerous certifications in these areas, including the American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer Certification, and is currently completing the Professional Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant Certification with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. Milwina has been a personal trainer and a nutritional consultant for CitaHealth Management Group since March 2002. She has, and continues to positively influence the lives of a diverse group of people, ranging from sedentary individuals to athletes and from young adults to the elderly. Milwina is perhaps the toughest personal trainer at CitaHealth, but she serves as a motivator and teacher who creates challenging, stimulating and innovative exercise programs. Although Milwina specializes in personal training and nutrition, she has experience in exercise testing, occupational health and corporate wellness. Being a track and field athlete in her earlier years, Milwina enjoys running above all other activities. She has competed in distance races ranging from 10ks to marathons. Her most recent accomplishment was competing in the 2002 Honolulu Marathon in Hawaii, and she hopes to continue with this sport as well as train for triathlons. You will probably spot Milwina running the streets of Vancouver or hiking up local mountains.
